We just got back from the Outer Banks and it was such a great time. We went with Gigi, Papa and Mark. Mark's girlfriend Robin was able to join us for the last half of the vacation and she was introduced to the craziness of the Meister's!
We rented our family friends house which was so great. It had a pool and Hunter took to it like a fish. Loved to jump off the side and have people "fall down" or go under water. He would direct Mark especially to "fall down now!"
The weather was nearly perfect and since it was super hot last week the water in the pool and ocean were a nice relief. Luke loved the hot temperatures and took many naps on the screened porch which had a nice cool breeze.
Kerry and I were able to get out for our first dinner date since Luke was born. My poor family had to endure 2 hours of Luke screaming so we thank them extra for giving us the time away.
Luke was a great traveller, which is a shock since most days he screams when we go anywhere, but this trip he slept pretty much the entire ride down and back, just waking to eat. Hunter struggles more with the confinement and had a couple temper tantrums. The ride back was more of a challenge for him, I think we stopped 5 times with the last stop resulting in Hunter getting sick in his car seat right before I was able to free him.
All in all we had such a fun week, and have so many great memories. Thanks for all the help Mom, Dad, Mark and Robin.

Happy Birthday Hunter!!
We celebrated Hunter's birthday at a local soft play room. We invited about 15 of Hunter's friends and let them load up on sugar before letting them loose in the play room. They all had a great time and Hunter was talking about his party for days!
Aunt Patty and Uncle Dave made a very quick trip to visit and helped celebrate Hunter's big day.
Trying to get a group shot was very difficult, here are some of Hunter's friends.

I'm 3!
Hunter is 3 years old. It is hard to believe. He is a fun, outgoing, happy child with a strong willed, mischievous side. He loves riding his bike, playing with friends and and being outside.
He is still strongly opposed to buttons, and very opinionated when it comes to his wardrobe. He now picks out his own clothes which solves some tantrums in the mornings. He can dress himself if his clothes are laid out properly and wants to "do it by myself" most days.
This was a big year for him and he tackled most of the developmental milestones easily. He was potty trained, switched to a big boy bed, gave up his pacifier and became a big brother. He will be moving schools next week to the "big boy school." He seems really excited and looks forward to being reunited with his 3 year old friends.
He is no longer the extremely picky eater, but still doesn't ever really care about food or eating unless it is dessert.
We are still trying to lower the number of tantrums we experience each day, but some days are better than others. I think that the fact that he has an opinion on how everything should be done makes the tantrums more frequent. He isn't, nor do I think will every be a laid back person, but as he grows I think the fact that he knows what he wants will be an asset.
He loves his baby brother, rarely shows jealousy, but when he needs some one on one time he is quick to verbalize it. We are so lucky to have such a great kid and look forward to watching him grow.
Hunter's Version
Since Hunter started singing popular children's songs we realized he misunderstood the songs, (a lot.) Three songs with Hunter's interpretation of the lyrics:
1) There was a farmer had a dog and Bingo was his mango.......
2) Jingle belts, jingle belts, jingle all the way.......
3) Ba ba black sheep have you any wool, yes sir, yes sir three bags full. One for the master, one for the dame, and one for the little boy who lives down the drain.
He is so confident in his lyrics that he sings these songs at the top of his lungs, so amusing.

A McKay Visit
Mick and Joyce came to visit us this weekend and Hunter was in heaven. He followed Mick everywhere, wanted to know where he was every time he left the room and wanted to go see them the minute they left.
I love this picture, Hunter wrapped his arm around Mick the minute we said smile for the camera.
They brought Hunter's birthday gift with them and we accidently left it on the dining table, so he got another birthday gift early, and loved it. He wanted to play with it right away and slept with it last night. Thanks Mick and Joyce for a great visit and perfect present, come back soon!
